About Tariq
I think I am a professional person in the sense that I work very hard when I tutor students to do everything I can to facilitate their growth in mathematics or economics by providing them with several ways of learning, practicing, and refining conceptual knowledge. I also think I am easy-going, not particularly intimidating, and patient which are crucial traits for this particular environment. Fundamentally, there will be absolutely no issues with professionalism between me and my students and I will fully assure that they will be made to feel as comfortable, safe, and welcome as possible.

I aspire myself to understand concepts truly and not to memorize algorithmically. This is the crux of what it means to teach math and economics in my perception. To seek real understanding for your students rather than step by step memorization. I have a lot of influence in my teaching philosophy from my father who is a math teacher and math education coordinator by profession and has taught me a great deal of the value in understanding especially in pertinence to mathematics and economics by extension. The lesson plan varies drastically, I could spend the time teaching entire concepts or units of a course, on the other hand, I could be helping with a few difficult questions or a straggling concept of difficulty. It is completely situational for me and the student's particular situation. I think the fact that I am pursing a relatively intense and prestigious honours degree in math and econ at one of Canada's best universities certainly sets me apart in the sense that my competence and knowledge in these areas is very strong. I have also always been told that I have a gift for explaining and for teaching, similar to my parents who are both teachers and even my grandfather as well. Perhaps this talent runs in the family or perhaps I have been raised immersed in the worldview and manner of speaking employed by educators and that has shaped me to be of the same type. Ideally I would like to tutor those in high school or first year in unversity by exceptions can be made.
