About AmberLynn

I have been playing cello since I was 8. I played and immediately fell in love. I played in orchestras through four years of college and participated in chamber ensembles, new music groups, and enjoy playing piano, guitar, and singing (I use this in lessons a lot!) in various duos, groups, and jams for the last few years. I have professional teaching training for cello and love everything from Bach to rock covers on cello to Yo-Yo Ma’s communications with whales. Sharing the music is important!

About the lesson

I work with high school age and higher students looking to move from beginner to intermediate or intermediate to advanced. I provide teaching based on the physics of the cello and human body for good sound and fulfilling your musical goals beyond learning from the great works of others and into your own unique sound. I love teaching older students who have always wanted to play, as I hear this all the time and wish to help you make beautiful sounds from this instrument I love. Improvisation, music theory and history, and mixed instrumentation are my specialties.
