About William
I’m William Birch and have recently completed my A levels in West Yorkshire. I achieved 10 Grade 9s at GCSE and 3 A*s at A level in Biology, Chemistry and Geography. I’m currently in a gap year and have been tutoring for the last 2 years up to GCSE level and now can tutor up to A levels. In my gap year so far I’m enjoying doing volunteering as well as widening my academic knowledge on top of spending time with friends and family!

Prior to the lesson I plan the main aims of each lesson in advance depending on what the student needs to study to maximise productivity. If any homework tasks were set in the previous week I will also mark these ready to give feedback in the lesson. A roadmap will be made for future lessons to ensure the whole course can be covered effectively.
The lessons will be one to one and can be virtual or in person depending. They’ll lead into the topic of the lesson starting with ensuring the student has a strong understanding of the theory followed by activities to consolidate. Following this leaves plenty of time to give feedback and review the work and previous week’s homework. As the lesson ends we will review the lesson and summarise the learnings whilst acknowledging the student’s achievements. Homework may be set as well.
