About Ethan
I’m an experienced child and youth professional and educator with a strong background in supporting children and young people academically, socially, and personally.
I hold a degree in Community Social Services, an Advanced Diploma in Child and Youth Care, and a Diploma in Social Service Work. My professional experience includes working directly with elementary-aged children, youth, and families in educational and community settings.
I bring a patient, encouraging, and judgment-free approach to tutoring. My goal is to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence—not just improving their grades. I have a background in mental health that equips me with additional skills and perspective for anxious students, and those who have extra challenges occurring in their life.
Parents can expect someone who is reliable, professional, organized, and genuinely invested in their child’s success.

I take a compassionate, patient, practical, and individualized approach to tutoring. Rather than simply giving students answers, I break concepts into manageable steps, find explanations that make sense to them, and help build the confidence to solve problems independently.
My goal is not to teach you the answer to one question, it is to have you understand the underlying concept so that students can replicate what they have learned.
A typical session starts by identifying what the student is struggling with, followed by focused instruction, guided practice, and independent problem-solving. Sessions can also include homework support, assignment help, test preparation, and study or organizational skills. Sessions are truly tailored to the individual needs and goals of the student.
What sets me apart is my professional and educational background in Child and Youth Care, Social Services, and Community Social Services, along with extensive experience working directly with children and youth. I understand that academic struggles aren't always about ability—sometimes students need a different explanation, more patience, or someone who knows how to keep them engaged.
I primarily support Grades 1–8 across core subjects and Grades 9–10 in selected subjects, with lessons tailored to each student's learning style, needs, and goals.
