About Amélie
I have experience as a tutor at Cégep Édouard Montpetit. I have received a lengthy formation (an hour a week for an entire semester) on tutoring, along with a tutoring certificate. I am passionate about languages, linguistics, literature, cinema, travelling, and more! Curiosity is my main personality trait, and you can be sure I will talk about anything and everything. My general knowledge is a very big plus in language teaching, because it serves adaptability and versatility. Be sure that I will be a very smooth and patient teacher and I will do my absolute best to help you.

My philosophy in language learning is to associate the language you are learning to positive experiences. For example, a conversation about themes you are passionate about, an interest in culture, a fun travelling experience, or simply a book or movie you love. I think to learn a language, it is important to maintain motivation, and as a tutor I have tricks to make language learning a habit that motivates you and helps you attain your goals. I am extremely open minded, and can build a class from scratch for a student who is unsure about how to learn a language, or I can help you in a very specific area or goal you want to achieve.
I can teach :
- Writing class (I am a writer and university student myself, so I can help with writing papers or creative writing)
- Grammar class
- Vocabulary class (can be helpful for someone who works in a specific field)
If you have any other ideas or needs, I will listen and tell you frankly if I feel qualified to teach it.

Amélie helped me with a philosophy essay, a literature essay, along with grammar practice. She was a fantastic tutor and was very helpful with language practice. She explained basic concepts to me that I needed help with and always went the extra mile to make sure I understood the material. She also created lesson plans based on the things I wasn’t understanding. I would most definitely hire her in the future for other tutoring help (I need a lot) :)
