About Amie
As a communications undergraduate with honors, I am passionate about the importance of communication in each individual's life and strive to help individuals attain practical skills in Poetry Writing. I enjoy working with learners of all ages and abilities and specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals. I approach each session and client with openness, understanding, and a genuine desire to help each client achieve their academic goals. Professionally, I currently provide English Writing Tutoring at my local college with various students of various cultural backgrounds and learning abilities. Additionally, I have worked with neurodivergent adults and children for over 10 years in special needs programs, teaching essential life and academic skills. This experience taught me how to teach neurodivergent individuals effectively and gave me a comprehensive understanding of how neurodivergent individuals see and process information. With these skills, I am uniquely positioned to utilize this experience and knowledge to meet each individual's academic needs and help them effectively achieve their educational goals.

Lessons are tailored to individual needs, learning styles, and abilities. A typical lesson plan follows a general basic structure. This includes reviewing each client's goals, the assignment or topic being worked on, and each individual's learning styles and challenges. After this step, the subject or assignment will be addressed through an in-depth assessment and review with the client, helping the client better understand topics like different poetic styles, techniques, historical periods, poetic devices, themes, figurative language, and analysis of form. Additional external resources are also offered to clients to help provide support for clients outside of tutoring sessions.
