About Mairi

Photography has been a passion of mine from a very young age. I have been passed on this love of observation and ability to capture a moment, from my grandpa. He was a fond traveller like me and documented most of his life through lenses of all shapes and sizes and cameras of varying qualities. All of the equipment along with heeps of passion for this unique and powerful art form was passed down to me.

Photography has always been a fun hobby to me, something that I would use to reflect back on holidays or moments that I really wanted to remember but then the more I got into it, it became a part of my life in a more professional way. I took short courses and studied it at school and it was also one of the main modules in my four-year Communication Design bachelor course that I completed. Photography is now an integral part of my career as well as something that I enjoy doing for fun!

I would love to pass on my passion for photography to you through these classes!

About the lesson

I approach photography from a creative angle, keen to inspire you throughout our lessons with unique tips and tricks while completing short, rewarding tasks that will help you reach the level you aim to achieve. In my own practice, I take inspiration from my surroundings often being culturally influenced through my photography from the places that I travel to and the people that I meet.

I have experience as a TESOL tutor in both remote and in-person capacities so I am flexible to work in whatever suits you best. Lessons will last up to an hour per booking and we will decide on the best learning path for you and your specific needs during our first meeting.

I will provide fun lessons tailored to your specific areas of interest and we can work together to understand how to manipulate the features on your camera to get the results you are aiming for.

I am able to teach beginner to intermediate students of all ages in both analogue and digital photography.
