About Cliff
I have been employed as a Head of Science for 39 years in London schools. During that time, I have helped thousands of students excel in Science, enabling them to gain a place at a selective senior school or university. I have extensive experience teaching in the age range 4 to 18 years. My teaching experience includes Head of Science positions in Woodbridge High School (5 years), Glendower Preparatory School (5 years), Hendon Preparatory School (3 years) and Devonshire House Preparatory School (17 years). Since 2016, I have been employed as Head of Science at The Gower School in Barnsbury. I try to make all my lessons interesting and entertaining. In addition, I am particularly keen to encourage safe home experiments. My academic qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology and Biochemistry, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Secondary Science / Chemistry and a PhD in Cardiac Pharmacology and Analytical Chemistry. I am passionate about all aspects of the natural world, conservation and environmental issues. I am a dedicated volunteer at ZSL London Zoo and enthusiastic member of the RSPB. I have an unblemished Enhanced Data Barring Service certificate and can provide excellent references from previous employers.
