About Esther
Hello! My name is Esther and I am a third-year student studying at Queen's Commerce.
Over the years and within my university education, I have taken a plethora of Academic English Writing Courses and was awarded "Love of Subject" in my final year of high school as the most passionate student in my Grade 12 English class.
Writing did not come easy for me at first, and I have been inspired to tutor after uncovering that many students and young professionals once struggled the way that I did.
After writing countless essays, analyzing hundreds of texts, and drafting thesis upon thesis, I have discovered the essence of what it means to "move" and "convince" people with an effective piece of writing.
It will be my mission, as your tutor, to help you get to this same position, where you have the internal confidence to write effectively in all facets of your life - whether it be in your school or career.
Additionally, I am very well-versed in the University Application Process and am able to assist students with essays in this regard.

My approach to learning and teaching first begins by understanding where your strengths and weaknesses lie as a student.
A typical tutoring session will include:
-open conversations about where you struggle with course content or a particular assignment
-curated learning to help you in your areas of weaknesses
-pre-designed exercises to test your ability to understand the lesson and course content discussed
-an application of the content where I will support you in completing any work you currently have assigned and/or areas of difficulty
I am dedicated to developing the student on a long-term level as opposed to a short-term basis. You are guaranteed to find confidence in your ability to write, and this will be tailored to the skills required based on your dream school or career.
