About Amelie
Hi there! I'm currently studying English, Philosophy, and Politics at Newcastle University, a course that really allows me to explore a wide range of fascinating subjects. My academic interests lie particularly in diving deep into classical literature, uncovering the timeless wisdom and storytelling within texts and also delving into theological studies, where I find a rich tapestry of ideas and interpretations that have shaped so much of human thought.
When I'm not buried in books or engaging in university seminars, you can find me enjoying live music, playing with my dogs or cheering on my favourite football team.

I offer specialised tutoring for students in Years 6-13, with a particular focus on GCSE and A-Level English Literature, Religious Studies, and Philosophy. As a current university student studying English, Philosophy, and Politics at Newcastle University, I bring a fresh and in-depth understanding of these subjects. My academic background includes achieving high grades in A-Level English Literature, Religious Studies, and completing an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) focused on *The Great Gatsby*, giving me a deep insight into literary analysis and specific texts.
My teaching methodology is designed to be engaging and effective. I adapt my approach to suit each student's individual needs, whether they require help with understanding complex literary texts, developing analytical essays, or grasping philosophical concepts.
I have a strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and experience in enhancing English and reading skills for younger students within a school setting. My knowledge extends across a wide range of literary works and philosophical concepts, allowing me to provide in-depth guidance.
I pride myself on being friendly, outgoing, and flexible, creating a comfortable and productive atmosphere for learning. Lessons are typically an hour long, allowing for comprehensive coverage and ample opportunity for questions and discussion. My goal is to equip students with the knowledge and confidence needed to excel in their studies.

I would highly recommend Amelie as a tutor, especially for Philosophy. She has a strong understanding of philosophical concepts and is able to explain complex ideas in a clear and understandable way. She is patient, supportive and makes learning feel much easier and more enjoyable. She also has a strong knowledge of English, making her a great tutor for both subjects. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to improve their understanding and confidence in Philosophy or English.
I’m Summer, a friend of Amelie, and i’ve had the pleasure of learning philosophy alongside her. I always felt able to ask for explanations on topics that i struggled with and had the pleasure of receiving in-depth answers that also really helped me put concepts into perspective.
