I'm a political science graduate and researcher at a think tank. I've tutored mostly High School kids looking for help with SAT tests, including SAT subjects, and did a lot of proofreading and essay writing in college for people looking for an editing eye or help formulating arguments.

My teaching method for writing is based on learning through imitation and practice: I curate texts based on their style and argumentation and show students how their textual elements can be replicated to showcase individual style in writing. I don't believe in assigning more than a student can handle, but instead do my best connect with them through the material assigned so that they're interested in the subject. Each student is different and learns differently, and I make sure to be attuned to their individual needs by asking them questions, such as which sort of methods they prefer. When I was in High School and College, I learned best by studying with close friends who shared my sense of humor so that we could memorize things by discussing them at length and deeply engaging and building an affinity with the subject matter, and that's my main method of tutoring. :)
