About Jesus
I am a Biology (Premed) student at Columbia University with four years of medical school training in Cuba and over a year of experience tutoring students at Columbia University through both individual and group study sessions. I have conducted neuroscience research on astrocyte networks and the oxytocin system, and I currently study mosquito-borne viruses, investigating how host proteins influence viral replication and infectivity. These experiences allow me to connect classroom concepts with real scientific research.
I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping every student succeed. Whether you're taking high school biology, a college-level course, or preparing for the MCAT, I will tailor each lesson to your goals and learning style. My focus is not only on improving grades but also on building confidence and a lasting understanding of biology.

My goal as a tutor is to help students truly understand biology instead of simply memorizing facts. For the past year, I have led both one-on-one and group study sessions as a tutor at Columbia University, where I learned how to adapt my teaching to different learning styles and academic goals.
I can help students with specific topics they're struggling with or teach a subject from the ground up. My lessons focus on building a strong foundation and reinforcing concepts through practice questions and problem-solving.
As a Columbia University Biology (Premed) student, former Cuban medical student, and biomedical researcher, I bring both academic knowledge and real-world scientific experience to my teaching.
My lessons are for high school students, college students, and students preparing for the MCAT who want to strengthen their understanding of biology and improve their confidence.
