About Joe
I am a college professor who has been teaching anatomy, physiology, and general biology classes at community colleges in Michigan and Northern Virginia since 2007. For the past year I have been conducting both synchronous and asynchronous lecture and laboratory classes online to both individuals, and classes of 25 or more students.

As an educator in the biological sciences, I feel a responsibility to communicate information to students in a way that enables them to make informed decisions regarding the environment. The basic biological principles that I strive to impart include: the process of evolution, rudimentary genetics, the interdependence of biological systems, biological levels of organization, fundamental human anatomy and physiology, and the process of the scientific method. My hope is that students leave my classes with an appreciation for biological diversity and an increased sense of stewardship for the earth.
