About Aliza
I have a Master of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Composition and Pedagogy from the University of Maine, where I taught composition and technical writing courses from 2013-2018. From 2018-June 2023, I was a lecturer in the Penn State University system, where I taught multiple writing courses, including: composition and rhetoric, research writing, technical writing, and business writing.

Writing does not follow a set process, and neither do these sessions. If you are working on a big assignment or project and would like to meet multiple times along the way, we can do that. Or we can bookend a project by meeting at the beginning and the end. Or we can meet once to solidify an approach or to proofread. Each writing project requires a unique approach, so I will tailor our sessions to meet your needs and the needs of your project.
I am bringing 10 years of classroom and remote teaching experience in writing studies at R1 research institutions to our sessions. My teaching approach is informed by research in not only how we write but how we choose the best approaches to writing in particular situations for particular audiences.
Sessions are available to high school students who are preparing for college-level writing or who are currently enrolled in honors or dual-enrollment courses, as well as to current undergraduate or graduate students. Meetings are also available for professionals working on industry-facing writing projects.
