I am a college professor, a father, a husband, and a professional who is passionate about the game of chess. Time is the most precious commodity we all have so it is important to me that each minute is put to good use. I will always look to check in with students to assess how they feel and ensure they are making the progress they anticipated.

I have tons of experience teaching and working with students 1st grade to graduate students. I have been playing chess for over 30 years. My favorite online platform in chess.com, and I mostly play online now. Chess is a game that must be taught at the pace of the student, so I believe there is no one size fits all, with the speed of the lessons, and its best to take your time and have fun while learning. I have taught and will teach beginning students (even my son at the age of 5) all the way to intermediate level. I have a 1500 rating, and I have played several tournaments. Once a student gets to intermediate level they should learn working with and without a clock. Chess is one of the most beautiful games to play and there is a lot of personal growth and enjoyment for those that are willing to learn. I would love to assist you as you learn this amazing game.
