About Samia
I have been a tutor for 3 years. I started in Fall of 2023 at the Student Success Center at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I loved working as a tutor and continued to do so until I graduated in May. I specialized in Algebra, Statistics and Quantitative Reasoning. While I mostly tutored college students, all are welcome. I am offering in person tutoring in California. Specifically in Lincoln, Auburn, Sacramento and Roseville. I also offer online tutoring.

My Teaching Approach
I believe that confidence is the foundation of academic success. Drawing from my background as a school tutor, I know that every student learns differently. My goal is to discover your unique learning style, identify your specific goals, and provide tailored ways to practice. We won't just memorize rules; we will truly build your problem-solving skills together.
My Tutoring Framework
I use the highly effective "You Do, I Do, We Do, You Do" method, which naturally transitions you from struggling with a problem to mastering it completely.
Here is exactly how it looks:
1. You Do (The Assessment): We start by looking at a problem you find challenging and reviewing how you previously tried to solve it. This helps me identify the exact roadblocks.
2. I Do (The Modeling): Next, I will demonstrate the correct method, breaking down the logic step-by-step so it makes perfect sense.
3. We Do (Guided Practice): We work through similar problems together. I provide support and hints until you feel comfortable taking the lead.
4. You Do (Independent Mastery): Finally, you solve problems on your own to lock in the information and prove to yourself that you can do it!
