About Devon
Hello! I graduated with a Creative Writing Minor in 2022. I've published a short story collection with eight short stories and seven vignettes and have published five more short stories with publications like the Mad River.
In total I've written over 50 short stories and one novel.
I want to teach so I can pass on the skills I've learned and because I love talking about creative writing and the art of storytelling!

Before we meet, you will read. Essays chosen for what they can teach you about structure, voice, and argument. You will also write a first draft or outline of your own essay and bring it to the session.
When we sit down together, we dig into what you wrote. What is the argument? Does it hold? Where does the writing lose the reader? We work through it together, line by line.
Research is part of it too. I will help you find sources, use the right tools, and learn how to let research strengthen your writing instead of replace it.
