About Olek
Hello, my name is Olek Piechaczek and I am a recent graduate of Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo. Studying engineering showed me that many people have the ideas in their head but lack the ability to put it into words. I helped many of my friends proofread their writing and in turn noticed a slew of ways I could help people. I love great wordplay. I think it makes your writing dynamic and allows your voice to shine through. When I was writing essays in middle school, I disliked a lot of the process because I was trying so hard to stay within the strict guidelines of the assignment. But as I have gone on in schooling, I have learned that the guidelines mostly serve as a foundation to your writing. You should never stray too far from them, but if you have a technique that better emphasizes your thesis, you should always take it! I am hoping to improve your writing and hopefully allow you to enjoy the process a bit more!

Everyone has their own style when it comes to writing, especially when assigned an essay for school. The ideas are always important but maintaining your voice makes those ideas even more palatable. In my writing lessons, we will go over simple methods to improve clarity, cut-down on run-on sentences, and elevate your written word.
During my time in middle and high school, I had much experience writing essays that focused on a single idea about a book. Much time was spent constructing a "thesis" and then combing through the text for details that support my claim. I also had to write a 20-page thesis in my senior year of high school.
Given my background with studying Latin, I understand many of the finer details of English grammar. I have noticed many writers have excellent ideas but express in a muddled, confusing way. By making some simple (or sometimes drastic) changes to your writing, you can improve your teacher's reading experience and your grade!
