I begin by parsing your knowledge about whatever historical era you are studying. I make sure you have the basic facts down (the who-what-where-when?). What happens next varies by assignment. If you have an essay to write, we brainstorm topics and think up thesis statements, based on the evidence you have. If you have to finish a worksheet, we go through each individual question. By the end of the lesson, you will have a firmer grasp on whatever era/event you are studying, why it occurred, and what its effects were.
