About Haley

I am a recent college graduate looking to give individual and group french lessons to aspiring "frenchies". I graduated from Augustana College, with degrees in French, International Business, Marketing, and Economics. I have studied extensive French at the Université de Bourgogne in Dijon, France and this past year I accepted a position working and living in the French Alps. I spent my time working in local high schools teaching and tutoring students from ages 14-25, but I have experience tutoring children as young as 8 years old. I am looking to help teach and inspire people who are interested in not only learning the language, but the cultural, global, and historical importance that languages hold. At the moment, due to COVID-19, remote lessons are ideal, but eventually in person lessons and conversations are necessary to fully understand and practice the language.

About the lesson

My teaching method varies depending on the student and their learning style. I focus on the importance of a well-rounded vocabulary, an understanding of grammar concepts, how to actively listen, and how to express yourself orally and verbally. First, it is extremely important to have a deep understanding of how to say, identify, and memorize common words, phrases, and questions within the french language. Once you know what you want to say, the next step is how to say it. Which brings us to how to form sentences with verbs in present, past, and future tenses. Next, is forming an appropriate response by identifying the statement or question at hand, process what is being asked, and how to form an appropriate response. Finally, being able to express all of these concepts in a written format is the cherry on top. Learning languages takes time, effort, and a whole lot of error. My goal is to help you every step of the way and turn those errors and mistakes into motivation to becoming bilingual.

My lessons are all priced the same regardless of proficiency level, the best way to improve and become fluent is time and effort. Due to COVID-19, remote and webcam lessons are only available at the moment. Eventually, in person lessons will be provided and offered to ensure progression. I am willing to work with you and provide package deals for payment options.

The lessons I offer include:
- 30 minutes for $15
- 45 minutes for $20
- 1 hour for $25
- Longer lessons are available by request
