About Laura

I have worked with several students with varying levels of proficiency. My previous lessons have focused on re-enforcing grammar structures and vocabulary learned in the classroom. I have also emphasized oral communication skills, and worked to improve both accents and fluency when speaking.

My college studies focused on Spanish literature. Thus, I would also be excited to work with students to enhance their reading comprehension as well as analytical and writing abilities.

About the lesson

I am a recent college graduate who majored in Spanish. I am very enthusiastic about the language and am excited to share that with students! In the past, I have taught Introductory Spanish to first years in college, but am open to working with all age groups and levels. I value creating a positive, comfortable space where students aren’t afraid to make mistakes, and can grow and improve their language skills as a result!

I have a flexible teaching style, and think it is important to tailor each lesson to the needs and preferences of each student. I use a combination of materials and resources depending on the goals of a lesson. These may include worksheets and textbook exercises as well as movie clips and songs to ensure that lessons are dynamic and engaging!

Laura has helped me tremendously in improving my writing in both Spanish and English. She has an eye for detail and is invaluable in finding grammatical errors. However, her talents do not end there! She is equally skillful in helping improve the organization, argument, and general style of pieces of writing that I've asked her to proofread. Best of all, Laura works quickly and is thorough yet kind in giving feedback, making her an absolute joy to work with. I recommend her highly!
