About Gabriel

Gabriel Jofré, Guitarist and Producer born in Santiago de Chile in 1990, starts at the instrument at 10 years old. When he began his university career in the Modern Music School, he already had some initiation in Jazz, led by Federico Dannemann, for which he focused his attention on Jazz and Traditional Chilean Music, thus being part of the Ensemble of Palomar Folk Projection (directed by Margot Loyola and Osvaldo Cádiz). In 2009, thanks to a scholarship, he settled in Quito to study at the Instituto de Música Contemporánea (IMC) of the San Francisco University of Quito (part of the Berklee International Network). In this period, he was part of groups such as Blur and the Big Band of IMC. He taught at the University of the Americas in the chair of electric guitar. He participated in the Ecuador Jazz Festival multiple times; accompanying the Grammy winner Trombone Shorty, Calton Coffie, Rita Maria, Blur and currently Jazz the Roots, project with which he has made known the Latin American musical circuit and with which he has toured Chile and Ecuador and released two albums ( 2013 and 2017).
