About Gregory
Ten years of teaching singers has run alongside my work directing choirs. I hold a Bachelor of Music, and choral conducting formed a major part of my training. I have led ensembles from small church groups to a community choir of eighty voices.
I understand choir singers because I stand in front of them every week. My private lessons solve the problems group rehearsal never has time for. A chorister who struggled for years to sing in tune fixed the issue in two months of one-to-one work.
My teaching is friendly and community-minded. Many of my students sing in the choirs I direct, and others come from ensembles across the area. Every choir singer deserves individual attention, and I love providing it.
Choir singers are musicians too, and they deserve real training. If you sing in a choir and want to contribute more confidently, I would be happy to help. Message me and tell me which section you sing in.

Choral singing asks for skills solo singers rarely need. My lessons train blending, matching vowels and tuning chords with other voices. Students learn to listen outward as much as inward.
Holding a harmony part is the great choir challenge. We practise singing one line while I play or sing another, building independence step by step. One student who always drifted to the melody now anchors her alto section confidently.
I also help choir members with their individual technique. Breathing, resonance and range all improve with personal attention. A stronger singer makes a stronger choir, and directors notice.
For singers preparing solos within choir concerts, we polish the moment they step forward. Projection, poise and communication all get rehearsed. The choir member becomes a soloist for two minutes, and we make those minutes count.
