About Larry

I am a Team Lead working in a children’s residential home with strong experience supporting young people with complex needs. I have worked in residential care for several years and understand the daily responsibilities, safeguarding expectations, and standards required by Ofsted.

I have practical experience in writing professional reports such as daily logs, incident reports, and key work sessions. I support staff and students to improve their writing so it is clear, accurate, and meets professional standards.

I am currently working towards my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare. I also hold a Masters degree in Human Resource Management, Degree in Guidance and Counselling and have completed a wide range of training including safeguarding, medication, mental capacity, and behaviour support.

Through my work, I regularly guide staff on how to improve their practice, complete documentation correctly, and understand what is expected in a children’s home setting. I focus on making things simple and easy to understand.

My approach is supportive and practical. I use real examples from my experience to help you build confidence, improve your work, and achieve better results in your role or studies.

About the lesson

My lessons are practical, clear, and focused on helping you improve quickly.

I start by understanding what you need support with, whether that is an NVQ assignment, report writing, or understanding your role in children’s residential care. We then work step by step to improve your work using real examples from practice.

If you have an assignment or report, you can bring it to the session. I will go through it with you, explain what is required, and show you how to structure your answers to meet the standard. I will also help you improve your writing so it is clear, professional, and meets Ofsted expectations.

For NVQ learners, I help you understand the question, break it down, and build strong answers using your own experience. You will not just get answers, you will learn how to write them yourself so you can pass confidently.

For report writing, I will show you how to write daily logs, incident reports, and key work sessions in a clear and professional way. This includes using the right language, structure, and safeguarding focus.

Each session is structured:

We review your work or topic
I explain what needs to improve
We work through an example together
You practise with guidance

You will leave each session with clear next steps and improved confidence.

I keep my teaching simple, supportive, and focused on real results.
