About Ophelia

My interest in chess began with a fascination for strategy and long-term planning. This led me to complete a Master’s in Strategic Studies, where I developed strong analytical and decision-making skills. Over the past 10 years, I have helped students learn chess in a structured and simple way that builds confidence and strategic understanding.

I believe chess should be taught with clarity and consistent practice. My teaching approach focuses on explaining ideas step by step and encouraging students to think independently. I guide learners to analyze their games and improve through practice and reflection.

Outside teaching, I enjoy playing chess and studying advanced strategies. This helps me keep lessons effective and interesting. Teaching chess is very meaningful to me because I see students grow from beginners to confident players. Helping them develop strong thinking skills, patience, and confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

About the lesson

Chess becomes easier when students understand the ideas behind each move instead of memorizing openings. In my lessons, I focus on piece movement, opening principles, middle game planning, tactics, and endgame strategies using simple and clear explanations. I break each concept into smaller steps so students can follow comfortably without confusion. I also include puzzles, practice games, and guided analysis to improve thinking and decision-making skills. Each session is interactive and supportive, helping students learn in a focused and encouraging environment.

As students progress, lessons are adapted based on their level and learning pace. Beginners focus on rules, piece movement, and simple strategies. Intermediate learners work on tactics, planning, and game understanding. Advanced students focus on deep strategies, pattern recognition, and competitive preparation. I provide regular practice, game reviews, and feedback to ensure steady improvement and strong understanding.

Chess helps students develop logical thinking, patience, and decision-making skills. As they improve, they become more confident in planning moves and understanding the game deeply. These skills are valuable in academics and everyday life. My goal is to make chess simple, engaging, and rewarding so students feel confident in their ability to think strategically and play independently with clarity and strong focus.
