About Iris
My passion for chess began through an early fascination with strategy and logical problem-solving. This interest inspired me to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science before earning a PhD in Strategic Analysis. During my 10 years of teaching experience, I have worked with learners ranging from complete beginners to serious competitive players.
I believe effective coaching combines clear instruction, encouragement, and personalized guidance. My teaching approach focuses on helping students understand concepts deeply while building confidence in their own thinking. I enjoy creating lessons that challenge learners in a supportive and motivating environment.
Outside teaching, I regularly study professional games, explore new strategic ideas, and follow international competitions. These activities allow me to bring current insights into my lessons. Helping students strengthen both their chess abilities and critical thinking skills continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

My chess lessons are built around helping students understand the reasoning behind successful decisions on the board. We study opening development, tactical combinations, positional play, king safety, endgame principles, and calculation techniques through clear explanations and guided practice. Every lesson encourages learners to think actively rather than rely on memorization alone.
As players develop their skills, lessons expand into advanced planning, candidate move evaluation, positional sacrifices, tournament preparation, and game review techniques. We analyze practical examples that help students recognize important patterns and make stronger decisions during real games. Lessons are adapted to individual goals and experience levels.
I believe chess is an excellent tool for developing discipline, patience, and analytical thinking. My goal is to help students become more confident players while enjoying the learning process. Every session supports steady improvement, stronger decision-making, and a deeper appreciation for the game.
