About Thomas

I started to play chess when I was 6 years old. About me, I am a self-motivated and passionate person who is willing to inspired other to learn and love chess like how I do. I have participate in several professional tournaments and try to emerge myself into chess whenever it is available elsewhere (Chess club in school/ community). These are my achievements: +4th place in NB provincial chess 2017 after first attempt.+1st place in NB blitz tournament. +2nd place in chess club tournament +3rd place in my middle school chess tournament.

I have had experienced teaching chess to kids at elementary school around Toronto area, at all skills and level and particularly kids ranging from grade 3-4. I was responsible for curating engageful and effective lessons to suit kids at different level, ranging from newbie to approximately kids with playing skills at 1200.
From October 2023 to Jan 2025.

About the lesson

CHESS IS A MIND GAME, it is beneficial to learn chess. It helps improve cognitive skills (critical thinking and problem solving), induce creativity and concentration. New to chess? Don’t worry, I am readily to teach your kids from the beginning. In the lessons, I will teach chess fundamentals; tactical tip/tricks; and psychological trick to apply during games. Homework will be given for consolidation as it is a practice to use the knowledge after game and lesson. My hourly rate is 20$ per hour one on one. Location: Toronto Public Library - Yorkville Branch, 22 Yorkville Ave, Toronto, ON M4W 1L4, Canada.
I am also open to teach more than one person, with the limit of 5 people.
