About Matthijs
My name is Matthijs, I am 25 years old and currently I am studying psychology! I have been making chess content for over 3 years now and have built up a strong fanbase of chess enthusiasts. Most of my content is analyzing games played by the best players in the world and turning them into valuable lessons which help to understand the game better, no matter what your rating is. When it comes to my own chess career, I have played over 5 years in which I have gained a rating of 2000 Elo on chess.com. This puts me in the top 0.3% chess players on the website!

With both experience in making online chess content and giving individual lessons, I know how to approach teaching when it comes to chess! If you would like a sneak peek when it comes to my style, you can check out my Youtube channel Matthijs_chess. Currently, I make Dutch content, but I used to make English content as well!
I will use a general guideline when it comes to core principles in chess, but of course we will work on individual weak and strong points in your game, to personalize the lessons and make sure you maximize your goals when it comes to chess!
Whether you are a beginner who just started to gain interest in the beautiful game of chess, or you are already more advanced, my lessons can help you gain rating and gain a better understanding of the game.
