About Aaliyah
My fascination with chemistry began in high school when I noticed how substances interact, react, and change in observable ways. This interest led me to complete a Master’s in Chemistry, providing a solid theoretical foundation alongside practical laboratory experience. For the past 9 years, I have been teaching students at various levels, helping them grasp complex concepts with clarity, patience, and relevance. Teaching allows me to share my passion for chemistry while supporting students in building confidence, understanding, and curiosity about the subject.
I believe every student learns differently, and my teaching adapts to individual needs. I focus on step-by-step explanations, visual demonstrations, and practical exercises that make abstract concepts tangible. I emphasize reasoning, experimentation, and analytical thinking so learners develop independent problem-solving skills. Patience and encouragement are key components of my approach, ensuring students feel supported as they navigate challenging topics.
Outside the classroom, I stay engaged with current research, chemical developments, and laboratory innovations to enrich lessons with up-to-date examples. I enjoy finding practical applications and examples that make chemistry relevant to students’ daily lives. Seeing learners progress from uncertainty to confidence, develop problem-solving ability, and cultivate a genuine interest in chemistry is deeply rewarding. My goal is to foster not only academic achievement but also lasting enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity.

Chemistry is often perceived as challenging due to abstract concepts and complex formulas, yet it becomes approachable when students connect ideas to real-life experiences. My lessons focus on teaching chemical principles in a way that is logical, structured, and relatable. We cover topics such as atomic structure, bonding, chemical reactions, acids and bases, thermodynamics, and solution chemistry. Lessons incorporate step-by-step explanations, demonstrations, and carefully designed exercises that encourage active participation. I emphasize understanding mechanisms, predicting reactions, and interpreting data rather than rote memorization. Using everyday examples, such as reactions in cooking, household products, and environmental processes, I help students see chemistry as a living and applicable science rather than abstract formulas on a page.
Lesson plans are tailored to the student’s level and goals. Beginners receive guidance in understanding atomic and molecular structures, simple reactions, and the periodic table. Intermediate students practice problem-solving in chemical equations, bonding, and molecular interactions. Advanced learners explore thermodynamics, kinetics, reaction mechanisms, and laboratory experiments. Each session integrates practice exercises, visual aids, and analytical thinking tasks that help students solidify understanding and retain knowledge. I encourage questions, experimentation, and reasoning, ensuring learners feel confident to approach problems creatively and independently.
As students progress, they develop strong analytical skills, improved reasoning, and a practical understanding of chemical phenomena. Many begin noticing chemistry in daily life, whether observing reactions in cooking, environmental changes, or industrial processes. Lessons not only improve exam performance but also nurture curiosity and scientific thinking. My aim is to make chemistry both comprehensible and enjoyable, fostering confidence, problem-solving ability, and lasting interest in the subject.
