About Xavier
I developed a passion for chemistry while observing reactions in the lab and reading about molecular transformations. This led me to complete a B.Sc in Chemical Sciences and an M.Sc in Organic Chemistry. Over 9 years, I have guided students of diverse levels, helping them gain conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence in tackling challenging topics.
I teach with patience, structured guidance, and practical examples. Lessons emphasise reasoning, interactive engagement, and making concepts tangible. I encourage students to explore independently, think critically, and enjoy the process of learning chemistry.
Outside teaching, I remain engaged in research, lab work, and scientific literature, bringing contemporary discoveries into lessons. Seeing learners gain mastery, curiosity, and confidence in chemistry is incredibly rewarding and motivates me to refine my teaching methods continuously.

My chemistry lessons focus on building conceptual clarity through hands-on examples, problem-solving exercises, and structured explanations that make abstract ideas tangible. Students explore atomic theory, molecular interactions, reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, and practical applications. I encourage them to ask questions, reason critically, and connect theory with real-world chemical processes, fostering a deep understanding of concepts. Every lesson is designed to engage curiosity and provide a supportive environment where learners feel confident exploring challenging topics.
The lessons are adapted for individual levels. Beginners focus on fundamental principles, formulae calculations, and basic reactions to establish a strong foundation. Intermediate learners explore kinetics, equilibrium, molecular structure, and spectroscopy, strengthening analytical thinking. Advanced learners engage with complex organic reactions, laboratory techniques, and applied chemical modelling to refine reasoning and scientific methodology.
