About Poonam
My passion for chemistry began when I discovered how scientific principles explain the world around us. That curiosity led me to complete a B.S. in Chemistry and later begin tutoring students who needed patient, steady guidance. With 7 years of experience, I’ve learned that students thrive when they feel understood, encouraged, and able to learn at a comfortable pace. I make a point to understand each learner’s preferred approach—some benefit from visual diagrams, others from repeated calculations, and others from real-world analogies that make abstract concepts easier to grasp. My teaching style is warm, clear, and patient, ensuring students never feel rushed as they build confidence step by step. I highlight small achievements to help learners stay motivated and recognize their own progress. Outside tutoring, I stay connected to the field through ongoing study, practical experimentation, and exploration of new teaching techniques. Bringing these insights into lessons helps make chemistry more engaging and accessible for students. Supporting learners as they grow in understanding and confidence is deeply meaningful to me, and I take pride in helping them succeed in their scientific studies.

Chemistry becomes much easier to understand when students receive supportive guidance, clear structure, and patient explanations. I begin with foundational topics such as atomic structure, bonding, periodic trends, and basic reaction understanding. Each concept is broken down into manageable steps, helping learners make sense of the material without feeling overwhelmed. This early clarity builds confidence and prepares students for deeper topics.
As lessons progress, I introduce subjects such as stoichiometry, gas laws, thermochemistry, acids and bases, and equilibrium. Depending on the student’s goals, sessions may focus on exam preparation, improving class performance, or strengthening overall scientific reasoning. I use step-by-step examples, guided practice, and real-life connections to help learners understand patterns and approach problems more confidently.
Over time, students may explore more advanced areas such as basic organic chemistry and detailed reaction mechanisms. Many begin to view chemistry not as a set of disconnected facts, but as a logical system that becomes clearer with consistent support and practice. My goal is to build an environment where students feel supported, capable, and motivated as they develop long-term scientific confidence.
