About Troy
My passion for chemistry began with curiosity about how substances interact and transform at the molecular level. I earned a B.Eng in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, which gave me strong foundations in both theoretical chemistry and practical industrial applications. With 10 years of teaching experience, I have guided students towards deeper understanding and stronger academic performance through structured support.
I believe chemistry should be taught through logic and connection, not memorisation. My teaching style focuses on explaining mechanisms clearly, guiding students through calculations patiently, and helping them build long-term confidence. I enjoy working with learners preparing for exams as well as those rebuilding their understanding from the basics. Lessons are always adjusted to each student’s pace and needs.
Outside tutoring, I stay engaged with chemistry through continued learning and interest in scientific innovation. Teaching chemistry is fulfilling because students often shift from confusion to clarity when concepts click. Supporting learners in mastering chemical thinking is something I truly value.

Chemistry becomes much more understandable when students see it as the science of change, structure, and transformation. In my lessons, I help learners explore chemical reactions, bonding, stoichiometry, kinetics, and equilibrium through clear explanations and step-by-step problem-solving. I focus on helping students build strong reasoning so they can approach calculations with confidence rather than anxiety. Sessions are supportive, practical, and designed to make chemistry feel logical and manageable.
Lesson plans are adapted to each student’s level. Beginners learn chemical symbols, formula writing, and basic reaction patterns with gentle guidance. Intermediate learners strengthen skills in mole calculations, balancing equations, and reaction pathways through structured practice. Advanced students focus on kinetics, equilibrium systems, thermodynamics, and exam-level problem-solving with deeper conceptual discussion. Virtual experiments and real-world examples are included to make learning engaging and memorable.
