About Alina
I’m an experienced and patient tutor with a strong background in both classroom teaching and one‑on‑one academic support. With experience as a teaching assistant in Grades 6–8 and additional work at Kumon, I’ve supported students of all ages in building real understanding and confidence.
As a chemistry undergraduate working toward becoming a teacher, I bring both subject expertise and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. My approach is clear, supportive, and tailored to each learner, ensuring they feel comfortable, capable, and motivated from the very first lesson!

Methodology:
My methodology is rooted in clarity, patience, and genuine understanding. I focus on breaking down complex chemistry concepts into simple, intuitive steps, using visual explanations, analogies, and guided practice. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my techniques to match their pace, strengths, and learning style. My goal is always the same: to make science feel approachable, logical, and even enjoyable!
What a Typical Lesson Could Look Like:
Each session is structured around student needs:
- Identifying specific challenges or misconceptions
- Walking through concepts with clear explanations and examples
- Practicing problems together, especially in areas where students commonly struggle (stoichiometry is a big one!)
- Providing optional slides, notes, or extra practice when requested in advance
NOTICE: If no request is given in advance, we work through the questions they bring and build understanding in real time! These lessons are flexible, supportive, and designed to build confidence as much as skill!
What Sets Me Apart?
I bring both academic training and real classroom experience. I’ve worked as a teaching assistant for Grades 6, 7, and 8, and as a Kumon TA/marking assistant supporting students across a wide range of ages and abilities.
As an undergraduate chemistry student with plans to become a teacher, I’m deeply committed to helping students truly understand their material, not just memorize it. I care about clarity, patience, and making sure every student leaves feeling more confident than when they arrived. Helping people learn is something I genuinely love, and that passion shapes every lesson.
