I am a Chemistry postgraduate student in the field of synthetic organic chemistry. Recipient of a Master's degree with industrial experience in the petrochemical industry. Have good experience as a tutor, having taught in the past and having acted as the coach for a university sports team.

My teaching method is aimed at attempting to obtain an understanding of the fundamental principles behind a given learning objective/problem. Typically this will involve me giving an explanation of the keys points needed for understanding followed by case study problems for us to work together on, with me gradually taking more of a back seat as comprehension of how to tackle problems develops. The goal isn't simply to teach a student how to answer questions, but how to approach problems in unfamiliar territory, which is a key requirement for a student of science. Of course every student is different, so this can be varied in a case by case basis
