About Riley
My fascination with chemistry began with curiosity about how invisible reactions create visible change. This led me to complete an M.Sc in Chemistry, where I developed strong analytical and theoretical understanding. Over 10 years of teaching, I have supported students in overcoming confusion by presenting chemistry as logical and approachable.
I teach with patience and adaptability, adjusting explanations to suit different learning styles. I focus on helping students understand the “why” behind reactions and formulas, encouraging independent thinking and confidence.
Outside teaching, I continue exploring chemistry through reading research updates and practical applications in industry and education. Teaching chemistry is meaningful to me because I witness students move from hesitation to confidence. Helping learners recognise their scientific potential is the most rewarding aspect of my work.

Chemistry lessons are structured to help students understand how substances interact and transform at both macroscopic and molecular levels. I focus on guiding learners through atomic theory, chemical bonding, reaction types, stoichiometry, and thermodynamics using logical sequencing and clear explanations. Concepts are introduced gradually to ensure understanding rather than memorisation.
Lessons adapt to student level and learning goals. Beginners receive strong conceptual grounding with visual representations and simple problem-solving. Intermediate learners develop calculation accuracy, equation balancing, and laboratory reasoning. Advanced students work on reaction mechanisms, analytical chemistry concepts, and exam-oriented strategies. Regular practice and feedback help reinforce learning and correct misconceptions.
Chemistry education builds precision, curiosity, and scientific confidence. As students begin recognising patterns and relationships, they gain trust in their reasoning abilities. Many learners become more comfortable approaching complex problems with patience and structure. My goal is to help students feel capable, confident, and curious in their scientific journey.
