About Zoe

I hold a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Analytical Chemistry, providing a strong foundation in both theoretical and experimental approaches to chemical science. Over 9 years of teaching, I have guided students from high school to university level, helping them understand complex topics such as organic mechanisms, chemical equilibria, and quantitative analysis. My approach combines structured explanations, real-world examples, interactive problem-solving, and hands-on demonstrations to make chemistry engaging, relevant, and accessible. I prioritise creating a supportive and motivating learning environment. Lessons are tailored to each student’s learning style and pace, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and independent problem-solving. Students are guided to approach chemical questions methodically, develop analytical reasoning, and gain practical confidence in lab techniques. My aim is to help learners become not only competent but also enthusiastic about exploring chemistry. Beyond teaching, I stay connected with current research in chemical synthesis, environmental chemistry, and laboratory innovations. Incorporating contemporary studies and practical examples enriches lessons and prepares students for academic projects, research opportunities, and career pursuits. Witnessing learners grow in confidence, understanding, and curiosity is the most rewarding aspect of my work, as they develop skills to tackle scientific challenges independently and creatively.

Chemistry becomes exciting when students can connect theory with real-life experiments and applications. My lessons are designed to cover fundamental concepts in stoichiometry, thermodynamics, organic reactions, and chemical kinetics while demonstrating practical applications in laboratory and everyday life. Each class integrates interactive discussions, visual aids, hands-on problem solving, and guided experiments to enhance understanding and retention. Students explore acids and bases, reaction mechanisms, molecular structures, and equilibrium systems through structured yet engaging activities. For beginners, I emphasise clear explanations, analogies, and guided exercises to help them grasp essential concepts. Intermediate students work on multi-step reactions, analytical calculations, and experimental interpretation. Advanced learners delve into chemical modelling, spectroscopic analysis, and problem-solving strategies for competitions or higher studies. Every lesson balances conceptual understanding with practical application, aiming to instil confidence and excitement in learners. Chemistry lessons also promote critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and precision in observation and measurement. Students learn to hypothesise, design experiments, and interpret results methodically, preparing them for both academic and professional success. My goal is to foster a deep appreciation for chemical science, empowering learners to confidently approach problems, explore new ideas, and apply chemical knowledge creatively in diverse contexts.
