About Rohan
I earned a PhD in Chemical Sciences and have taught chemistry for 11 years across a variety of academic levels. My fascination with chemistry began through a desire to understand how substances interact and transform at the molecular level. This interest eventually led me into both advanced study and a rewarding teaching career.
Throughout my experience, I have worked with students preparing for examinations, university courses, and specialised scientific studies. I believe chemistry should be taught through understanding rather than memorisation. By simplifying difficult concepts and encouraging active learning, I help students build lasting confidence in their abilities.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy following developments in materials science, environmental chemistry, and chemical innovation. Staying engaged with current scientific discoveries helps me keep lessons relevant and inspiring. Helping students see chemistry as an exciting and meaningful subject is one of the most satisfying parts of my profession.

Chemistry becomes much more engaging when students understand the reasons behind chemical reactions and interactions. My lessons focus on building a strong foundation in atomic structure, chemical bonding, organic chemistry, reaction mechanisms, equilibrium, and laboratory concepts. Rather than relying solely on memorisation, I help students connect ideas and understand how chemical principles explain everyday phenomena and scientific advancements.
Lessons are designed around the learner’s needs and academic objectives. Students who are building foundational knowledge receive step-by-step guidance and clear explanations, while advanced learners explore deeper analytical thinking, experimental interpretation, and problem-solving strategies. I use diagrams, practical examples, and structured exercises to make complex concepts easier to understand and remember.
Chemistry encourages curiosity, observation, and logical reasoning. My goal is to create an environment where students feel comfortable exploring challenging topics and asking questions. As learners strengthen their understanding, they become more confident in applying chemical concepts to academic work, scientific research, and real-world situations.
