About Minseo

Hi! I’m a bilingual tutor (English and Korean), currently studying at the University of Toronto, with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students build confidence in their studies. I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and achieved top scores in the SAT, so I understand the demands of rigorous academic programs and standardized testing. I have hands-on experience tutoring both elementary and high school students. I’ve worked at an education center where I taught English to multiple elementary students, and I’ve also provided one-on-one tutoring to a high school student in math and science. These experiences helped me develop the flexibility to adapt my teaching style to suit different ages, learning levels, and personalities. Whether you’re working through school subjects, preparing for exams, or building study skills, I’ll meet you where you are and support you with patience, clarity, and encouragement. About the lesson

My teaching methodology centers around clarity, curiosity, and confidence-building. I strive to break down complex topics into digestible concepts using relatable examples, visual aids, and active recall techniques—methods that reflect my own effective learning strategies. I tailor my teaching style to suit each student’s pace and preferred mode of learning, whether they are analytical, visual, or discussion-oriented learners. A typical lesson begins with a quick review of the previous topic, followed by a focused explanation of new material. I promote active engagement through problem-solving, open-ended questions, and short quizzes to reinforce understanding. To support continued learning, I also provide customized summary notes and practice materials aligned with each student’s academic goals. What sets me apart is my ability to simplify challenging concepts without compromising depth, alongside a structured yet flexible lesson format. I am dedicated to helping students develop critical thinking skills and genuine understanding, rather than relying on memorization alone. My lessons are primarily designed for elementary to high school students, with a focus on math and science subjects. I also assist students in preparing for exams, writing lab reports, interpreting data, and building foundational research skills. As a Korean fluent in both English and Korean, I offer lessons in either language based on the student’s preference.
