About Tara
Hi, I’m Tara! I’m currently a Biochemistry student at [Insert University Name], and I love helping students get their heads around the trickier parts of science.
Having achieved A*s in Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology not too long ago, I know exactly how overwhelming the volume of content can feel and how frustrating it is when a concept just won’t "click."
My approach is pretty straightforward: I focus on teaching you scientific concepts, mastering exam technique, and building your confidence. I use drawings, flowcharts, and simple explanations to break down complex topics into things that actually make sense. I want my students to walk into their exams feeling like they truly understand the subject, rather than just having a bunch of facts memorised.
I’m patient, easy to talk to, and I make sure our sessions are a comfortable space to ask "stupid" questions until you've got it. Whether we are tackling organic chemistry or cell biology, my goal is to help you get the grades you need while making the process a lot less stressful.

Teaching Methodology
My approach is centred on Active Recall and Logical Breakdown:
I provide tutoring for GCSE and A-Level students in Biology and Chemistry. I am comfortable working with all major exam boards (AQA, OCR, Edexcel).
Syllabus Focus: We start with the specific exam board requirements to ensure every session is marks-oriented.
Step-by-Step Deconstruction: I break down large processes (like cellular respiration or organic mechanisms) into small, logical stages that are easier to memorise.
Visual Aids: I use diagrams and flowcharts to help students visualise processes rather than just reading text.
Exam Technique: We move quickly from theory to past paper questions so the student understands how to word their answers for maximum marks.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes.
10 mins: Reviewing the previous topic and addressing homework "bottlenecks."
35 mins: Interactive teaching of a new concept.
15 mins: Guided practice with exam-style questions.
