About Tarek
Hi, I’m Tarek!
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and have more than five years of tutoring experience in mathematics, chemistry, and physics.
Alongside tutoring, I have professional experience working in engineering and project management, where I applied scientific and mathematical concepts to real-world projects. This allows me to show students not only how to solve a problem, but also why the concepts matter beyond the classroom.
I understand that challenging subjects can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I create a patient, positive, and judgment-free learning environment. Students are always encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and work at a pace that helps them develop genuine understanding and confidence.

My teaching approach focuses on making difficult concepts simple, practical, and easy to visualize. Rather than asking students to memorize formulas, I explain why each method works and guide them through problems step by step until they can confidently solve them independently.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the student’s goals and areas of difficulty. I then explain the underlying concepts, demonstrate a clear solution method, and work through practice questions with the student. We finish by reviewing the key takeaways and creating a plan for continued improvement.
As a Chemical Engineering graduate with over five years of tutoring experience, I combine strong technical knowledge with patience, encouragement, and real-world examples. I adapt every lesson to the student’s age, learning style, current ability, curriculum, and upcoming assignments or exams.
My lessons are designed for middle school and high school students studying mathematics, chemistry, or physics, as well as college and early university students who need support with foundational science, mathematics, or engineering courses.
