About Mark
My name is Mark and I've been tutoring 1st through 12th grade students in Math at a math learning center for over 4 years. I specialize in High School Math courses, up to Algebra 2. I've worked with over 300 different students during my tutoring experience and am confident I can help you or your students as well!

I am Chemical Engineering graduate with a minor in Mathematics. I tutor students up to Algebra 2. My techniques and methods are based on assessing and filling in gaps, providing a firm foundation for students and building up to current material. Some students miss key concepts in school that leave them struggling for years to come. I identify and reteach these concepts to them in a way that makes sense to them and tailor my teaching to the needs of each individual student. My students experience greater confidence in school and improved grades. I also offer homework help. My typical lesson plan would be to spend half of a session working on filling in gaps and recovering material students are deficient in and the other half either learning new concepts or working on homework. (Summer curriculum will be filling in gaps and preparing for next school year). I write my own assessments based on grade level that determine the level of each student. From here, I build a learning plan with topics to be covered during each session until it is complete at which point another assessment is given to ensure understanding on concepts. The student is then moved on to the next level of learning.
