About Jim
Once I gained my Bachelor of Engineering degree from Canterbury University in New Zealand, for the next 10 years I began designing major bridges, maritime structures, tunnels, water treatment, and sewage treatment plants in the United Kingdom. Then I spent 3 years in Singapore and 12 years in Hong Kong designing major infrastructure, Metro, and tunneling projects, rising to Regional Manager and Managing Director for SMEC (Snowy Mountains). I then ran my own temporary works design company in Hong Kong for a couple of years before returning to New Zealand as a Project Director for WSP for 8 years. During 2023 and 2024 I was the Tunnel Works Expert for the Designer on the Snowy 2.0 Project in Australia.

The roles I have held include Technical Expert, Managing Director, Project Director, Project Manager, Designer, Expert Witness, and Engineer's Representative amongst others. I use my global mega infrastructure experience to tailor advice to your specific needs. I have advised companies, project teams and individuals. I am based in New Zealand and work from home.
