About Kolam
I am an experienced violin tutor with 6 years of teaching experience, helping students from school level to working professionals develop their musical abilities. Teaching music is something I truly enjoy, and I am dedicated to helping students achieve their goals. My teaching philosophy is based on strong fundamentals, regular practice, and gradual improvement.
I believe that learning violin should not feel difficult when taught with the right approach. I focus on teaching essential basics such as posture, bow control, finger placement, and understanding of notes in detail. As students progress, I guide them towards advanced techniques and musical expression.
I also provide regular feedback and practice routines to support continuous improvement. I have successfully taught more than 150 students, many of whom have improved their confidence and performance skills. I create a comfortable and supportive learning environment. My goal is to make violin learning a smooth and fulfilling experience.

I aim to make violin learning simple, structured, and enjoyable for every student. I use real-life examples and demonstrations to explain musical concepts like rhythm, pitch, and expression so students can understand them clearly. I focus on essential skills such as posture, bowing techniques, scales, and tone production, ensuring students build a strong base.
I follow a gradual and organised approach and make sure students understand each concept before progressing further. I maintain open communication and create a positive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions.
I provide clear explanations and regular feedback. I follow values like honesty, discipline, and commitment. Apart from violin, I also teach music theory, rhythm training, ear training, and basic composition.
