About Owen
I am passionate, eccentric, humorous, hard-working teacher in my life with 9 years of tutoring experience and 6 years of teaching. I have multiple degrees in History, with certification in teaching math. I have been a lead tutor for 9 years at a tutoring center, and I have many clients who have succeeded despite the odds against them through my tutoring who currently are in college.
I have a different approach to teaching, I believe each student has unique skills and passions that can align their understanding to succeed at any goal.

I teach through multimodal teaching, helping students find their foundations and basics of the subject they are working on, assigning customized practice that helps growth and skill retention.
My lesson plan is to first ask key questions about the base level of the subject, and to then expand from those key questions into larger and larger frame of reference that the student would understand. I.E. talking about fractions, using a pizza to break down into pieces for fractions, and then showing the student where fractions occur in daily life.
My lessons are for students from 4th grade all the way to college level, I am available for any student who needs support in their goals.
