About Anissa

Hi! I’m Anissa and I’m a certified teacher and experienced math tutor with over 7 years of tutoring experience and 3 years of classroom teaching experience (K–4). I earned my degree in Education with a concentration in Mathematics, and I hold teaching credentials in California, Washington, and Colorado. Math has always been a huge passion of mine. I took advanced math courses through Calculus 4 in college, earned A’s in all my university Calculus classes, and scored a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam. I tutor students in everything from 3rd grade math to college-level Calculus, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Business Calculus, and AP classes. I’ve worked with students from many backgrounds—including high-school honors students, college students, and even a student at Princeton. As a former teacher, my approach is patient, clear, and supportive. I focus on helping students truly understand the concepts instead of memorizing steps, and I tailor my teaching style to each student’s needs. Whether a student wants to catch up, get ahead, boost confidence, or prepare for exams, I’m here to help make math feel approachable and even enjoyable. My goal is simple: Help you understand the material, build confidence, and feel proud of your progress. I’d love to support you in your learning journey!
