About Natalie
Hi, I'm Natalie, a certified Social Studies teacher with over five years of classroom experience teaching students from middle school through high school honors courses. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Secondary Social Sciences Education and a minor in History, and I have dedicated my career to helping students develop confidence, critical thinking skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught U.S. History, World History, Humanities, Public Speaking, Debate, Reading Intervention, and advanced historical writing. I have experience working with diverse learners, including honors students, inclusion classes, English language learners, and students who need additional academic support.
My goal is to make learning engaging, approachable, and meaningful. I believe every student can succeed when lessons are tailored to their individual needs and learning style. Whether a student is looking to improve grades, prepare for an exam, strengthen writing skills, or simply gain confidence in social studies, I provide patient guidance and personalized instruction to help them reach their goals.
As a current classroom teacher, I stay up-to-date on curriculum standards and best practices in education. I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing as learners.
I look forward to helping students achieve success and discover that history is much more than memorizing dates, it's understanding the people, ideas, and events that continue to shape our world today.

As a certified Social Studies teacher with over five years of experience teaching middle school, high school, honors, and college-preparatory courses, I believe that students learn best when history is connected to the world around them. My lessons are interactive, engaging, and tailored to each student's learning style and academic goals.
My teaching approach focuses on building understanding rather than memorization. I use primary and secondary sources, discussion-based learning, graphic organizers, guided practice, and real-world connections to help students develop critical thinking and analytical skills. For students working on essays, DBQs, research papers, or test preparation, I provide structured support and clear strategies to build confidence and improve performance.
A typical lesson begins with a review of prior knowledge and learning goals. We then explore new content through discussion, source analysis, visuals, or guided instruction. Students have opportunities to practice skills independently with support and receive immediate feedback. Each lesson ends with a summary of key concepts and a plan for continued growth.
What sets me apart is my experience teaching a wide range of learners, from students who need extra support to honors-level students seeking academic challenges. As a current classroom teacher, I understand state standards, curriculum expectations, and effective instructional practices. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking academic risks, and developing confidence in their abilities.
Lessons are available for middle school, high school, honors, and college-preparatory students. I specialize in U.S. History, World History, Civics, Government, Humanities, historical writing, DBQs, research papers, study skills, and test preparation.
