About Brooke
More than anything I love to see students feel confident in science. So many of us believe that we are "not science people" but often it's because we haven't learned the right methods or strategies. I have helped students who never passed a science test in their life achieve A's on state exams in chemistry and biology. I believe encouragement and curiosity are the best tools to help students reach their goals, and I can promise you will leave our sessions feeling confident and empowered.

I like to use a 5-E model with my lessons. Together we will engage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate your progress. I find that this model keeps lessons interesting and well paced while making sure that they are challenging. During a typical engage we will watch an interesting Youtube video, explore we will dive a bit deeper looking at vocabulary and world context, explain is new content or reviewing old content with guided notes (short and sweet), elaborate and evaluate will be combined activities and quizzes. I give detailed feedback and specific areas for improvement using mastery trackers for each content standard. I have lessons for high school students 9-12 and college intro to chem and bio. I am an experienced High school teacher and university Teaching Assistant for the Biology Department. I have access to premade reviews, lessons, and activities for every standard in biology and chemistry as well as collegiate level laboratory assignments. I have strong foundations in Stoichiometry (chemistry math) and laboratory techniques.
