About Haley
I am a Keene State College grad with a bachelor's degree in secondary education and English literature, with a minor in theater. I have obtained a teaching license in my home state and actively work in schools in a teaching capacity with high school students. Often in this profession you hear the phrase "friendly but not friend." I prefer a model I call "teacher but human." I am a teacher first. Those expectations are always clearly established. However, I want to connect with students on a human level. A baseline two way respect is something that students need to have in order to effectively learn. I've spent almost a decade studying and implementing strategies based on how human beings develop. I bring that knowledge into everything I do.

Lessons will be catered to the individual needs of the student and reasons for hiring. Here are some examples, but we can design around what you want!
- Test Prep: I have successfully passed with above average scores the SAT, Praxis CORE reading and writing, and Praxis II English Content Area Exam. I can help with specific content knowledge (targeting grammar structures and vocab that are common on these tests) or study skills (what I make for flashcards, running through those together, practice sheets, etc).
- Reading Comprehension/Literacy: If there is text (informational or story based) that the student is working through, I can help with working through unfamiliar words, reading things out loud, and more! Again specific needs can be accommodated!
- Writing: I can assist in the whole process. Usage and Grammar lessons, idea generation, organization, research, citing, structure, editing, and more! Both giving suggestions and explaining why so that the student moves forward with knowledge on how to correct it in the future
