About Mary
My name is Mary Beth Pirie and I am a certified teacher from Georgia. I graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Nutrition and Food Science and worked in nutrition education for several years. I became a certified teacher through the GaTAPP program. As a military spouse, my family and I have had the opportunity to live in several different places across the US and overseas. While living overseas, I homeschooled my children and I was a substitute teacher for many years. These diverse experiences have allowed me to work with diverse groups of students. I learned how to approach learning based on the individual student's needs and learning type. In recent years, I have become an online teacher/tutor affording me the opportunity to work with varied age groups, different subject areas, and working with online learning platforms. I am confident that I can help students have more confidence in their abilities and retain the information needed to be successful in the academic area of need.

My degree is in Nutrition and Food Science and I have 11 years of classroom and tutoring experience working with students from kindergarten to 9th grade in all subject areas. My classroom experience was focused on middle school mathematics. I have also tutored 10th and 11th-grade math students. My approach to tutoring is to determine a student's learning type and provide instruction in a way that best suits the individual.
