About Yuting

Hi! I'm a native Chinese speaker and master student at the University of Alberta, with four years of tutoring experience. My Mandarin is of a high standard—certified at Level 2A by the Chinese Ministry of Education. I tailor every lesson to your unique personality and goals. You'll always see me smiling and bringing my energy—and even my hobbies like skiing and singing—into our sessions to make Chinese come alive. Most importantly, I create a warm, encouraging space where you'll feel confident to speak, stumble, and grow. Let's learn together and enjoy every step of the journey!

About the lesson

I have rich experience helping students of all ages, from beginners building a solid foundation to exam-takers preparing for HSK and HSKK. I tailor my teaching plans to each student's needs and guide them step by step, ensuring they not only master test materials but also gain confidence in real-life conversations. My classes are relaxed and enjoyable, and I love bringing my travel stories and knowledge of Chinese culture into lessons to make the language feel vivid and immersive.

Yuting was teaching me Intermediate level Chinese last year. She is a brilliant, kind and very cheerful teacher. She always gave me a lot of examples, and explained how I can use the new words to create a sentence, in detail. She prepared her classes according to my needs and my pace, and was well prepared for each class. Thanks to her, I finally managed to correct my pronunciation and become brave enough to speak with my own words.
